Taylormade Xr 03 Driver Illegal
From 1/1/03 drivers with a COR of.860 will be legal in the US and universally (this increases the COR for the USGA) but from 1/1//08 all drivers over 0.83 will be illegal. Some drivers that will be illegal after 1/1/08 include: Callaway ERCII, King Cobra SS370 Unlimited, Mizuno Blue Fire and 300S II E-type, Taylormade R300 series and XR-03.
That seller sells the illegal.860+ COR drivers. Anything over a.830 COR is illegal.
They are supposed to be longer than the.830 COR drivers. A simple way to explain it is The coefficient of reinstitution (COR) is a physical measurement of how much energy is returned when two objects collide (the head and the ball).100% cor would return all the energy.imagine if you drop a ball from 6 feet.it would bounce back up to a height of 6 feet.this is actually impossible.
So a clubhead with.830 cor will return 83% of the energy.an.870 cor will return 87% and so on. Also, Tom Wishon Golf did some pretty extensive studies and came up with the conclusion that at a swing speed of 90 mph each 1% of cor related to an extra 4.2 yards of distance.and this would increase with higher swing speed.so in this case @90mph with a 3% COR difference.distance added should be 12.6 yards, etc, etc, etc. Maybe some collector has bought it?!
And going to frame it i dont know! Lol he clearly states that the driver is illegal in his auctions. And a lot of people just play for fun, and therefore do not care if they are illegal. If they dont play in tournaments, and they just play with friends, then its no big deal. And when we get older, we could always use an extra 20 yards, heh. The.860 COR drivers were readily available in the UK up until last year when they were banned.
Im surprised you dont see them used in pro shops over there? I bet you can probably get them MUCH cheaper than we can over here. Strickly learning by a book, I'd have to say books by Earnest Jones, and/or de la Torre would be good starts for a beginner. That said, I have not read all the books on golf instruction.
Especially newer instruction. It is highly probable that there is better written instruction out there for the beginner. With personal instruction, I would lean towards the stack, and tilt method, but only after a series of group instructions on the basics of the golf swing. This assuming the instructor is qualified to teach that swing, and the student has the intelligence to understand the instruction. I am also very fond of learning the game backwards. Learning to putt well first, and working one's game backwards to the tee box.

I believe this is one of the quick way for a golfer to break 90 consistently. It's my belief that learning the shorter swings first, leads to an easier understanding of the longer swings.
If this is the XR08 Driver head, I remember it was above $600 when it first came out. And yes, the shaft feels like a rubber band. Perhaps not the best match of head weight and club flex for me As for the price, depends on relationship level I guess, but what is $50 for a new toy or something to occupy you for a while. As for shaft, there might be pullouts from other clubs left lying around that should be much less than $80. As what TDO mentioned, if you do play in a lot of tournaments, might not be worth going down this route. Seems that there were a lot of square headed drivers couple of years back but almost none now.
Maybe manufacturers have gotten better at moving weight around to optimise MOI across the club face while maintaining a rounded head. Or maybe there is some other reason?
